Huge layout update

As promised but a little later than I meant to be, I'm here to share my layouts. I like the idea of keeping most or all of them on here so I can look back and remember, and why not show them off all in one place, too. :)

I'll start with the remainder of the layouts I did while guesting with the New Release CT at MScraps in May. (Click links for the designer credits)

Guest CT at MScraps for May

Well, well, well.  My life has been very crazy with other non-scrapbooking stuff, which has kept me a little too on my toes to want to blog, BUT I have been scrapping, quite a bit, actually. For the month of May I am guest CT at MScraps, which I am absolutely loving! Today is the first release of this month, so I can show you what I have done! The list of items being released today is incredibly long, because all the designers were rushing to get things out before INSD. So I had a very hard time choosing what I was going to work with. Four LO's this week for MScraps, and one for Val, I'm rolling! LOL!

Here are the ones for MScraps:

Snap LO

Going back through a couple of Maya's previous kits, and I made a double layout with "Snap". It was pretty labor intensive trying to get all the poor quality pictures to look decent, and the whole thing took forever because the file was so large with so many pictures on the page. But I am glad I persisted; I think I am happy with the end result.

A couple of last minute things tonight...and a GSO for me!

Firstly Che Yang Designs is doing a RAK for her kit which is to be released tomorrow (Friday April 8th) at MScraps.
Visit http://che-yang.blogspot.com/ For a chance to win it, you can leave a comment there on her blog before she chooses a winner tomorrow. :) I've done so; wish me luck!

Secondly, I mentioned before that Zig Zag Scrap was opening their new forum today, and yes, they did. Check it out!
http://zigzagscrap.com/fun-place/
They're calling it the fun place, and it is already buzzing with fun Eastery activity...they had an egg hunt today and everything...I think there is about an hour left for that at this point! Come join us and have fun!

And thirdly, I am excited about it so I thought I'd toot my own horn a little...I got a GSO at MScraps for a layout I did earlier this week! It's my first GSO there. Thanks Suzie! It's a scraplift of a layout by MaggieMae. :)

New CT for me!

Last weekend I was accepted into the CT of Maya de Groot, who recently opened her shop at Oscraps. I have already had the pleasure of scrapping with several of her lovely kits and I look forward to seeing what she comes out with in the future as well...she seems quite talented!

Let me show you what I've done with her designs so far...

Revisiting DSC

The first scrapbooking forum I posted on was Digital Scrap Cafe, which is where I "met" Val who I now create for, and several other wonderful people whose company I regularly enjoy on the forums. I'm not in on any inside scoop there, I just posted there, so I can't tell you all of what happened, but their site did go down in October for a couple of MONTHS. I had already begun to get involved in the MScraps forum, though, so I was OK. DSC did reopen in January but I have been preoccupied with other sites. A couple of weeks ago, though, I thought I'd head over there and do some challenges as a nice way to kick myself in the butt and put some of the beautiful kids I have from designers there to good use! So I did. I did both challenges and ended up with two layouts that I am very happy with:

Click on links to go to DSC gallery and see credits for the kits used. I snuck one of Val's Chicky Chooks into the second layout. <3 :D

Maybe I will be able find time to do a couple of challenges there again.

Back to Life --the kit AND my mood!

I am thrilled with how appropriate Val's new kit is for me. I'm SO affected by the weather and I truely feel like I'm coming back to life this week, even though I haven't been feeling well physically. The weather has been beautiful! I have been soaking it up. Callia has been excited to get started on gardening, too, and we planted our first seeds of the year together a couple of days ago. :) So this kit matches my mood perfectly! I love the colors Val chose, and the word art is fantastic. She and I must be kindred spirits when it comes to spring...

I pulled out a few pictures from last year at this time to make my first layout with it:

More layouts

Continuing on with my scrapping. Note to self: try to scrap faster. I seem to be taking forever even longer on each layout these days than I used to!

I did a last minute layout to snag a point for one of the February MScraps challenges. The challenge was to journal how your love story began, starting with the beginning of marriage, the first date, whatever. I chose to journal the first time we met. Silliness, but still cute to remember. :)

I am not sure about how I chose to showcase it, though. Does it look somber? Like a consolation card or something.

And I did a second page with Val C. and Jen Yurko's "This Smile" kit, as a companion to the first one I did. I stubbornly didn't include green or yellow in the first, but I let it sneak into this layout, and I like it!

It really is a cute kit. Perfect for Callia when she was littler.

New Collab by Val C. Designs and Jen Yurko

Finally Val C. and Jen Yurko's new collab has been revealed!

Ready? Here is "This Smile"!
Click here to see "This Smile" in the ZZS store

How cute is that? I am impressed with how versitile it is. It is amazing how different each of the layouts from Val's CT look.

Here is my first page with it, with pictures of my daughter at the playground when she was 2 1/2. I plan to do another page to go with it, but it's not done yet...so I'll post that later.

I also did another layout this week, also of Callia when she was little. Seventeen months to be specific. I remember feeling like it was SO cute that she made the decision all by herself to get her little bag of board books and take them into my room to "read" where she could get comfy. That's stuff worth remembering!

Update, Layouts, and RAK

OK I have several things to share! I will save the best for last. First, I will share some recent layouts I have done! :D

This two page LO I did with Val C. Designs most recent kit, a collab with Sue Cummings called "Preserved + unAltered", which is an absolutely beautiful kit and I look forward to doing more with it:

Also, MScraps had an "Oscars" event where layouts could be submitted to win, and I did make a couple and submit them for that, just for fun:

Submitted to the "Best Clean and Simple Non Template" category, made with MScraps freebie collab "So Thankful For":

Submitted to the "Best Clustering" category, made with Joyce Paul Designs' kit "Color Pop":

Now, possibly more interesting, is that Val C. Designs has opened a new website, www.valcdesigns.com, moved her blog to it, and started a newsletter. To promote her new blog and newsletter she is giving things away! Head over to see what she is doing with a RAK to give away her upcoming collab kit with Jen Yurko

I have been able to work with it and believe me, it is adorable! I can't wait to do more with it, and to show what I have already done! Details on how to win it at Val's new site! www.valcdesigns.com
